What is company culture? It is the collective of attitudes, beliefs, values, and behaviors that shape the overall atmosphere at a company. More than just these things, culture can be easily defined as “how you feel at work.” It’s the vibe — it’s a company’s core belief system and sets the tone for how employees interact with one another.

You never really know a company’s culture until you experience it for yourself. You are a part of it. It’s living, breathing, and constantly evolving. If you are immersed in a company with a great culture, you feel it in everything you do. You feel free to ask questions, or speak up in a respectful manner. You feel valued and appreciated and you are able to bring your whole self to work.

Conversely, if you find yourself in a company with a poor culture, you feel that too and it typically bleeds into your life outside of work, because culture affects not only how we see ourselves but how we interact with the world. A poor company culture can wreak havoc on your overall well-being.
